In 1947, Borne from a vision to use his steel factory to offer post war Italy an affordable and mass produced form of transport, a businessman named Ferdinando Innocenti unveiled the first Lambretta motor scooter to the waiting world.

Film stars and the working class alike were captivated by the lines of the humble scooter.
Millions were made, not only in Italy but around the globe in Spain, Chile, Uruguay, India, Germany, and France. Australia itself was an early export market and consessionaires were established in all the capital cities.
 
Though production ceased in in Milan in 1971, it continued in Spain until 1988, and India until 1999. The Lambretta name continues to attract admirers accross the world, this year 2007 see's it's 60th birthday and thousands of enthusiasts around the globe are marking this very special milestone.
 
In October, in Sydney, we are coming together, not just from Australia, to the first international Lambretta event since 1966 to be held on Australian shores, we invite you to join us and help us celebrate the 60th anniversary of the “world’s finest scooter”.

Friday 5th: Anniversary dinner at the Palisade Hotel. First floor

Saturday 6th: Gymkhana, Show and Shine then over to the Clare Hotel for awards, music and drinks

Sunday 7th: Late breakfast at Mulligans on Cleveland followed by an afternoon anniversary ride then Evening drinks at the Rose Hotel

Note: This is to be charged event to cover costs.
All left over funds will go to the Lambretta Club of Australia. Costs will be listed shortly
